TWHBEA Saddened by the Loss of Chad Baucom
Chad Edwin Baucom, 49, of Monroe, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2016. Chad took over the family business, Baucom Stables, and spent his entire life training and showing Tennessee Walking Horses. Chad has been described as a legend in the Walking Horse Industry by many. Not only was he a master horseman, Chad was a loving husband, father and family man.
Chad was a very successful trainer. He achieved many titles during his training career including the 2011 National Trainer of the Year, the 2012 North Carolina Trainer of the Year, and the 2012 World Grand Champion aboard Walk Time Charlie. His major points of pride were the successes achieved by his amateur and youth competitors. Chad has been admired by the entire Walking horse industry for the relationships he has built with his amateur and youth riders. The love and passion received by all those who met Chad will live on forever.
Survivors include wife, Rhonda Kay Baucom of the home; mother, Wadene Baucom of Monroe; daughter, Kayla Baucom; son, Tyler Baucom, stepson, Blake Hull and wife, Elizabeth; and special granddaughter, Jordyn.
