In an effort to support the versatility division and get new people involved, the Pleasure Walking Horse Association of Tennessee (PWHAT) and Walking Horse Owners’ Association (WHOA) is hosting a Versatility Clinic on February 19-20, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Farm in Shelbyville, TN. The clinic is open to anyone who is interested in learning new skills and/or practicing existing skills. You do not have to be a member of either organization to attend.
The clinic is designed to introduce horses and riders to the various obstacles that are traditionally found in the Trail Obstacle class.
- Day 1 will focus on the individual skills needed to negotiate the different obstacles and how to confidently introduce them to your horse.
- Day 2 will be more focused on evaluating, planning, and putting together an entire run through a pattern.
- If interest and time allow, there is also the opportunity to cover some basics of the Showmanship class.
Instructors for the clinic are Jessica Mast, Dickie Gardner, Kyle Elliott, and Victoria Kalosis.
