black horse standing on grass in spotlight with red roses around the neck

The official World Grand Champion portrait of JUSTIFIED HONORS was unveiled during the TWHBEA Awards Banquet on December 5, 2025.

This portrait commemorates a once-in-a-generation Tennessee Walking Horse – JUSTIFIED HONORS, the first in history to claim the World Grand Championship title four times. His extraordinary victories in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025 have forever reshaped the record books and solidified his place among the breed’s greatest legends.

Captured by photographer Shane Shiflet, the portrait represents a groundbreaking moment in the long tradition of World Grand Champion portraits. For the first time ever, an official portrait was photographed at night beneath the spotlight of the Celebration’s iconic Big Oval, the arena where JUSTIFIED HONORS carved his legacy. Illuminated under the dramatic spotlight, he stands adorned with a magnificent blanket of 300 red roses, crafted in Louisville, Kentucky, symbolizing strength, elegance, and the enduring heritage of champions.

Sired by 2016 World Grand Champion HONORS (HOF) and out of MAYPINE’S DOLL BABY, the story of Justified Honors is rooted in exceptional breeding and lifelong partnerships. Though he had early owners in life, his show career has been proudly guided by Dr. Jim and Lisa Baum, who still affectionately call him “Chauncy.” And throughout every step of his show-ring journey, he has been presented by John Allan Callaway, the only rider ever to show him.

This historic portrait will be displayed in the Gallery of World Grand Champions at the TWHBEA headquarters, the Celebration main office, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, and five Tennessee interstate welcome centers and rest areas, where travelers will be greeted by the official state horse of the Volunteer State.
