Southern Obstacle Challenge Association, Inc. Press Release
The Southern Obstacle Challenge Association is a non-profit organization that has been formed to offer obstacle challenge and sanctioned Craig Cameron Extreme Cowboy Race events all over the Southeast. The goal is to provide events where horses and riders can have fun! There are divisions for all levels of horses and riders at all events, with payback and prizes awarded. SOCA will also offer clinics and schooling days to help horses and riders negotiate obstacles in a safe manner.
The first event will be an Obstacle Challenge on March 24th at Darby Oaks Stables in Bushnell, FL. This all breed event will feature 15 obstacles such as water crossing, sidepassing, bridges, log crossing and others that will test the braveness of the horse and the horsemanship of the rider.
The next event on the calendar is an Extreme Cowboy Race hosted by the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association. It is open to all breeds and will be held on May 5th at Circle E in Winchester, TN. In addition to a fun filled day of racing and obstacles, competitors have access to the beautiful trails of Circle E. Each year, this event grows and offers more challenging obstacles. Come enjoy the fun!
The balance of the event schedule is being finalized now, but SOCA is looking for venues and individuals interested in hosting events. Volunteers are also needed at all of the events, so if you can’t participate as a competitor, there is a place for you to help!
Membership is only $10 and includes newsletters, emails, event notices and discounted entry fees at SOCA events.
