Excitement Key As National Futurity Preparations Continue

Lewisburg, TN - Plans for the 2012 Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ And Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) National Futurity are well underway and eager anticipation is definitely in the air. This year’s event is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, July 19, at Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It will be judged by the experienced and esteemed panel of Gene ‘Smokey’ Carswell, Jesse Dotson, Jr., and Billy Young. Adding a new level of excitement to the evening, in addition to 16 traditional futurity classes, this year’s schedule will feature 13 jackpot classes. The traditional futurity classes will have the same nomination requirements and awards structure as in the past. The jackpot classes, which will feature substantial prize money, have been added to the schedule to to give breeders, owners and trainers the opportunity to showcase, at the Futurity, those young horses that have not been Futurity nominated. No doubt this expanded schedule will make for an entertaining evening of top-notch performances by our breed’s talented young contenders as they vie for top honors at our industry’s richest and most prestigious one-night show.
