Marshall County Horseman's Association donates to TWHBEA Youth

LEWISBURG, Tenn. – Gate proceeds from the recently held Marshall County Horseman’s Association’s annual Tennessee Walking Horse show in Lewisburg, Tenn., have once again been generously donated to the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) Youth Scholarship Fund.

“We at TWHBEA are very grateful to the members of the Marshall County Horseman’s Association for again helping our industry’s youth,” said Tracy Boyd, TWHBEA Executive Director. This year’s show raised $2,215 for our youth scholarship fund. Thanks also to our own Paulette Ewing and her volunteers for manning the gates and donating their time and energy to this worthwhile cause.”

Each year, proceeds from the show’s concession stand, run by a volunteer force led by TWHBEA Lifetime member Tony White, are donated to the MCHA and to other civic organizations.  This year, thanks to the success of the show, $1,076.06 went to the scholarship fund of the MCHA and another $1,076.06 to the Marshall County Lions’ Leo Club (high school-age members).

The Lewisburg Horse Show not only provided a chance to showcase the wonderful state treasure, the Tennessee Walking Horse, it also helped raise funds for six college scholarships and to financially strengthen the young Lions’ Leo Club.

These local walking horse shows are a valuable resource to their communities and to young people in the industry.
